Beauty Haunts Them Both (from the series: Ars Longa Vita Brevis)
I discovered these two busts in an art museum in Houston. I have an admiration for sculptors that can capture the human form. I saw The Pieta in Rome and I was astonished at the craft of Michelangelo. I do not even know who sculpted these two heads, but they are unutterably beautiful in an almost alarming way.
I gazed at them for a long time wondering how the sculptor had managed to captured these two girls, before I pointed the camera at them and captured them myself. I’ve gazed at them many times since. They are one of the images that form the wallpaper on my Mac.
